Midday at Midnight

Well, not quite. But this evening after sunset in Fremont, CA, I traveled down S. Eagle Rd. in the bright daylight, turned "right" onto E. Kuna Mora Rd., crossed the tracks, didn't get hit by a train, and stopped at the entrance to Grandpa's driveway. I couldn't make out the house very well because of the Russian Olive at the weir. But a few paces farther northwest, there it was, white and green, not obscured by anything. I looked up at the bright clouds thinly veiling the sun. I said hello to a cow.

Then I tried to visit our friends Kirk & Rebekah in Michigan, but couldn't get closer than a flight overhead, which disclosed varying depths in the nearby lakes.

Google maps. Wow.
